AppExchange is a marketplace where you can find solutions such as apps, components and consulting services. It’s also a space to share your own solutions with potential customers (but you need to be a Salesforce partner to do so).
Usually, our first contact with Appexchange is to look for existing solutions that we can install on our own orgs (this saves us a lot of valuable time and effort and, well, that way we don’t have to reinvent the wheel). Salesforce here guarantees us the security of the products offered. Before installing, it’s a good idea to read descriptions, reviews and demos of the solutions in question in detail so that you can choose the product that best meets your needs. After making a decision, it is worth buying a test drive, thanks to which we receive a demo, in which we can check the operation of the solution as a user (with read-only access), as well as plan the implementation process. Then there is nothing left to do but to install the solution with all the components in your environment. Once deployed, all you have to do is grant access to your users or adapt the solution for a specific group of users.
On the other hand, If you have created an innovative solution that can contribute to improving business processes in other organizations, as a Salesforce partner, you can “share” it with other users. This can be a custom object, custom tab or component as an application, Bolt solution, Flow solution or Lightning solution. The products offered are published on the AppExchange along with demos and trial versions.
